Event Description

The Philippines shares similar characteristics with Southeast Asia, including strong solar potential, grid challenges, and increasing electricity demand, creating a prime environment for solar and energy storage development.

 

In 2024, the Philippines’ photovoltaic capacity is projected to grow by 35%, reaching 1.2 GW. This will be followed by a 50% increase in 2025, reaching 1.8 GW, and a further 30% growth in 2026, reaching 2.3 GW. By 2027, the country is expected to add 3.5 GW of new installed capacity. The energy storage market is also set to grow, with the Philippines contributing to the $10.84 billion energy storage market in the Asia-Pacific region by 2026, addressing challenges of reliability, sustainability, and affordability.

This dynamic growth in both solar and energy storage presents significant opportunities for the Philippines' energy transition, which will be a key theme at our upcoming conference.
