Event Description

Southeast Asia, with its excellent solar conditions, weak grid infrastructure, and rapidly growing electricity demand, is primed for the rapid development of solar and energy storage technologies.

In 2024, Southeast Asia’s photovoltaic capacity is expected to grow by 32%, reaching 5.1 GW, followed by a 59% increase in 2025 to 8.1 GW, and a 28% growth in 2026 to 10.4 GW. By 2027, the region is projected to add 13.3 GW of new capacity. Similarly, the energy storage market is set to soar, with Southeast Asia and the Asia-Pacific region driving a $10.84 billion market by 2026, addressing challenges of reliability, sustainability, and affordability.
