Jakarta, 4 September 2024 - Major General of the Indonesian National Army (TNI) Piek Budyakto - Director General of Defence Potential at the Ministry of Defence(MoD) of the Republic of Indonesia, accompanied by Secretary of Education and Training Agency of MoD RI, First Marshal TNI Ir. Wajariman, M.Sc., Secretary of the Directorate General of Defence Potential MoD RI, Brigadier General TNI Heri Pribadi, and Managing Director of PT Napindo Media Ashatama (Napindo), led a technical meeting on Wednesday (4/9) at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, in preparation for the Indo Defence 2024 Expo & Forum, one of the largest and leading international defence industry exhibitions and forums in the world.
Incorporating with Indo Aerospace and Indo Marine 2024 Expo & Forum, this international exhibition represents Indonesia in the global defence arena. The exhibition will take place from November 6-9, 2024, at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Indonesia. The Director General of Defence Potential expressed appreciation to all parties who have worked with integrity in preparing for the exhibition. “This reflects our seriousness in organizing this event,” said the Director General of Defence Potential.
Furthermore, the Director General expressed his hope that all exhibitors, both domestic and international, would present their products, innovations, and technologies at their best, ensuring a positive impression of Indonesia as the host of the Indo Defence 2024 Expo & Forum.
A similar sentiment was echoed by the Secretary of the Ministry of Defence's Education and Training Agency, Air Vice Marshal TNI Ir. Wajariman, who stated that through Indo Defence, the products exhibited could serve as an ideal medium for fostering good communication between users and the industry. “That is the goal we want to achieve this year. It's not just about the increasing numbers from 2022 to 2024, but we also hope that transactions will go smoothly, and we must ensure that this event runs successfully.”
Carrying the theme “Defence Partnerships For Global Peace And Stability,” Indo Defence 2024 Expo & Forum is expected to once again contribute to advancing the national defence industry and strengthening defence cooperation, both nationally and internationally. As a creation of the nation that is recognized globally, this defence equipment event will serve as a strategic platform for local and international companies to showcase their top products and efficiently and effectively access new business opportunities in the global defence industry. “This year’s Indo Defence feels special as it will coincide with a government transition. Therefore, our hope is that the exhibition will be opened by the newly elected President and the new Minister of Defence. I believe this is a great opportunity and moment for all exhibition participants to showcase their latest products and technologies,” said Napindo’s Managing Director.
This international exhibition and forum in the defence, aviation, aircraft, airport technology, and maritime security industries will mark its 10th edition since its first event in 2004. Indo Defence is a platform for showcasing local defence products and services and also strengthens Indonesia’s image as a country capable of competing on the international stage. Compared to 2022, this year’s Indo Defence targets more than 1,000 local and international companies from 60 countries, including 35 national pavilions, and an estimated 40,000 visitors who will fill the 55,000 m² exhibition area over four days.
