5 International exhibitions for the energy and construction sector, a one-stop solution to answer energy transition challenges
Jakarta, August 31st, 2022 – Industry players in mining, energy, and construction from various countries are preparing to participate in Southeast Asia's largest trade exhibition: Indonesia Energy & Engineering (IEE) 2022 Series. The shows will be held by PT Pamerindo Indonesia on 14-17 September 2022 at Jakarta International Expo, Kemayoran; more than 900 exhibitors from 30 countries, 2,700 products, services and innovations supported by advanced technology will be showcased in 5 (five) international-standard exhibitions named Electric & Power Indonesia, Oil & Gas Indonesia, Mining Indonesia, Construction Indonesia also Concrete Show Southeast Asia.
Indonesia Energy & Engineering Series is a one-stop solution for various needs of stakeholders and business players, ranging from program or product innovation to investment opportunities for energy and construction sectors.

As a form of Back to Market, the IEE is also becoming the moment to launch various new products and services. “Based on our participant data, 25% of them will launch new products in Indonesia, and an additional 6% have launched their product in Asia and will showcase it during the show only. This is proof that the industry in Indonesia is ready and has the potential to meet higher market demand.” He also believes that this event can become a forum for providing solutions to the various challenges faced by the 5 industrial sectors, including challenges in energy transition that could be utilized positively to change the country and world economy. Mr. Wong added, “Furthermore, this event is also a bridge for young talent to participate in developing this industry.”
It is undeniable that energy transition into renewable energy is a current concern of government, associations and industry players. Investors also put a high expectation on companies to take fast initiatives to support energy transition. Renewable energy can be a solution in line with the government’s strategic plan for 2022-2024. Indonesia has a 23% target for renewable energy technology proportion of total energy production in 2025.
Eddie Widiono, Founder of Prakarsa Jaringan Cerdas Indonesia (PJCI) said, “To achieve government target on renewable energy, investors are crucial in providing financing. There is a challenge where innovation needed in terms of energy accessibility and clean technology in line with the spirit of Indonesia as the executor of the G20 presidency”. Regarding this, PJCI is increasingly promoting “smart grid technology” in supporting energy security and renewable energy through technological innovation.

Meanwhile, the 2021 realization of renewable energy has reached 11,152MW and is targeted to achieve 11,791 MW in 2022. To meet the target, smart grid technology is forecast to contribute to its growth. Implementation of the technology has been done by the Pembangkitan Jawa-Bali. Iwan Purwana as Director of Development & Commerce Pembangkitan Jawa-Bali said that his party had made a program that in line with the grand design of PLN 2021-2025 through an advanced control center using the smart grid technology.
Related to the above, Mustiko Saleh, Chairman of ASPERMIGAS said “Currently, oil and gas will continue its production and used mainly for petrochemical plant raw materials. Through Indonesia potential resources and EBT technology growth, we predict that in 2035 we can reduce fossil energy by around 60-70%. It strengthens Indonesia commitment on clean energy and sustainable development.” Bambang Tjahjono, General Chair of Asosiasi Jasa Pertambangan Indonesia (ASPINDO), agrees that the production and distribution of mining products also need innovation development and technology to support the acceleration of energy transition.
Dandung Sri Harninto, as the Deputy Secretary General of BPP Gapensi, also conveyed how the construction industry took part in the post-pandemic growth, the renewable energy program launched by the government has supported construction service entrepreneurs to be more active in growing the investment climate, and participate in the global arena, one of which is through the development of application of new renewable energy technology & energy conversion, including developing innovative products based on renewable energy. "The Construction Sector also supports government programs in building interconnectivity infrastructure between the different regions of Indonesia, so various innovations have also emerged in this sector, which, of course, will also be presented through live demos during the event later," he continued.
